Sandra's Story

Posted Oct 19th, 2016 in Client Stories

I was in an abusive relationship, afraid and isolated. I didn’t know what to do or who to turn to for help.  I finally had the courage to reach out and was referred to the Community Transitional Housing and Support Worker at Bethlehem.

This service has helped me to obtain legal counsel and educated me on the cycle of abuse and how I might plan for a better future.  I also learned about Bethlehem Place as an option for a safe, secure place to live.

I applied for residency and thankfully was accepted. This stay allowed me a transitional period of time for emotional healing and to obtain the skills necessary to make a fresh start.

I’m very grateful for the encouragement, help and continued support I receive through the programs offered by Bethlehem Housing and Support Services as I deal with the issues of domestic violence.

As I regain my self-confidence I now look forward to a fresh start and a violence-free future.
