During National Volunteer Week, we had over 40 volunteers from Brock University’s Staff and Faculty to help begin prepping the site for the revitalization and redevelopment of the Bethlehem Place playground and extended yard, to create an inclusive naturalized environment and play area.
A group of second year students in the Niagara College Broadcasting – Radio, Television and Film Program created an informative and promotional video for the Bethlehem Place Naturalized Playground.
As a founding member and a long-standing friend of Bethlehem Housing, we felt that it was important for us to use any donations made in memory of Dick in a way that would reflect his passions and dedication to Bethlehem.
The renovation to our 28-year-old playground began on Tuesday, April 18th thanks to the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP).
Established in 1993, the Gloria Rooney Scholarship fund honours the memory and social activism of Gloria Rooney who had a lengthy dedication to supporting individuals in need and community grass roots causes.
The Henk Zwart Memorial Fund was established in 1990 to provide financial support to residents living at Bethlehem Place who require external therapeutic services but cannot afford to do so. Henk's family established the fund after his sudden passing as a way of honouring his legacy of compassion and quiet caring for others.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Matching Gift Campaign over the last few months. We are excited to announce that thanks to all of your generous donations and support, the Billes Family has invested $100,000 towards our Future Housing Fund!
The 12th Annual Empty Bowls Event took place on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Club Roma. There were over 350 guests, 22 different food and beverage vendors, and raised more than $30,000 in net proceeds for programming at Bethlehem Housing and Support Services!
Our Early Learning Centre’s playground at Bethlehem Place will soon be receiving a complete makeover.
